The 2025 UN Ocean Conference, co-hosted by France and Costa Rica, will be held in Nice from 9–13 June 2025. Under the theme “Accelerating action and mobilizing all actors to conserve and sustainably use the ocean,” it aims to advance the implementation of Sustainable Development Goal 14. The conference will bring together governments, UN bodies, NGOs, academia, the private sector, Indigenous Peoples, and others to assess progress, address challenges, and form partnerships for sustainable ocean use. Building on the 2017 and 2022 conferences, it seeks to drive urgent, coordinated action for the health and sustainability of the world’s oceans.
